Security forces began to search all over Baticaloa town yesterday afternoon (27) following reports that a suicide squad had entered to the town aiming to sabotage the local government election scheduled to be held in the district on March 10.
Two TMVP supporters travelling in a motorcycle were killed a few days ago in a suicide attack.
Police investigations revealed that the target of the suicide attacker was a election rally of TMVP the party leaders were to take part. However, he committed suicide ahead of schedule when the two TMVP supporters suspicious of him attempted to check him.
